Confusing remark
Submitted by John Grant (not verified) on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 4:49pmDear Mr Pisano: Fact is, joining the military is a personal decision made by many young people for many reasons. Appalling police shootings are irrelevant to the decision to join the military -- no matter how tough & risky it is being a cop in 2009. Yes, our freedom as Americans is what we're taking advantage of when we criticize the Army Experience Center. And that Freedom is, despite your suggestion, not what Iraq and Afghanistan are about, which is way too complicated to run down here. We feel young people are so overwhelmed with TV, video games and other media that for the Army to exploit kids using this kind of violent computer game material, without an alternative view being made available, is not really what America should be about -- especially in an age when these same kids could easily one day be "piloting" a drone aircraft 12,000 miles away via a screen that is essentially the same as a video game, the only difference it has real dead people on the other end of it.
