N.J. CONGRESSIONAL REPORT CARD ON HOMELESSNESS
+-+-+-+-+-+
For the first time, New Jersey's federal
representatives received a rating, based on their
"performance" in responding to homelessness. At
a press conference held October 6 at the State
House, affordable housing advocates presented a
rating system based on positions taken by
lawmakers on the following legislation and
funding: SEVRA (Section 8 voucher reform); Chabot
Amendment; CDBG funding; McKinney funding;
Housing Trust Fund (S 2523 and HR 2895); and
Homes for Heroes (S 1084). Lawmakers received
ratings of "Very Supportive", "Supportive", and
"Not Supportive". This LNR episode, recorded at
the press conference, tells you more about this
Congressional Report Card, something you'll want
to consider before you vote.
