Where: Songhai City Cultural Center, 3117 Master Street, Philadelphia When: Monday April 21, 2008 at 6PM See a video which explains why this meeting matters: HERE  Why: Since 1996, The Mural Arts Program has produced vibrant public art that works to aesthetically beautify our neighborhoods. As a coalition, we recognize that what MAP accomplishes is of great value to the City of Philadelphia, but we also recognize a recurring theme within the practices of the program that disenables community participation and approval of their murals. In Brewerytown, The Songhai City Cultural Center will host a community meeting to begin a new process of doing business for the Mural Arts Program, a process that includes communities and creates artwork reflective of the way communities feel about themselves.
