Call for Passage of Cover All Pennsylvanians
Harrisburg Budget hearings cited as opportunity for Philadelphia legislators to bring new health resources to the city
(Northeast Philadelphia) – New Health Commissioner Don Schwarz and Consumer Advocate, Lance Haver, will stand with other community leaders outside of Health Center #10, calling for political leaders to support Cover All Pennsylvanians, a state-subsidized health insurance program that would help working people. The Northeast part of Philadelphia has approximately 21,000 uninsured individuals in it. Philadelphia has approximately 137,000 uninsured.* Budget hearings on Cover All Pennsylvanians will be underway in Harrisburg on the same day, with a vote on the new subsidized insurance plan expected in the House the following week.
