Great News! After all of the agitation and organizing these last few months, the NAACP just passed a resolution for Mumia (and several other prisoners), asking Eric Holder to review the case!
Below are statement from organizers Pam Africa and Suzanne Ross.
For more background on the campaign, please link here to the main page:

And for more background on why the federal investigation is needed, here is the article I wrote detailing five pieces of withheld evidence, that the jury was never able to hear about:

Note from Pam Africa: The NY Free Mumia Coalition and ICFFMAJ spearheaded weeklong mass demos, tabling and lots of on the ground work in support of this tremendous effort, and the Baltimore Chapter of the NAACP is to be commended for making Political Prisoners a large part of this convention! Stay tuned for more updates ...

A new resolution on Mumia, which also included Troy Davis, Marshall Eddie Conway, and Reggie Clemons, was just passed at the NAACP convention as an emergency resolution. It was addressed to Attorney General Eric Holder and called on him to review these cases!!!
More on our work over this past week at the NAACP convention both inside and outside the convention later, and its many impressive results, THOUGH MUMIA HAS NOT BEEN FREED ... when we can catch our breath.
RALLY TODAY FROM 4 PM TO 8 PM AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF 55TH STREET AND 6TH AVENUE. OBAMA IS SPEAKING AT 7 PM SO IT MAY BE A LITTLE CRAZY DOWN THERE. LOOK FOR OUR BANNER AND SIGNS. IF IT'S RAINING WE WILL ONLY HAVE OUR BANNER.
SEE YOU THERE!
Suzanne
=======================
Dear Friends,
This is our last call to those who might want to join us for an exciting day of being with Mumia supporters who have just come off a very productive week at the NAACP convention in NYC, and convincing Congressional Black Caucus members and others who have shown any sign of supporting a civil rights investigation for Mumia to join our campaign. Pam Africa and others will be coming from Philadelphia.
The bus is free BUT is only available to those who have participated in the required training, scheduled for FRIDAY NIGHT, FROM 6 PM TO 9M, AND COORDINATED BY ESPERANZA MARTELL in conjunction with the Coalition. We will be holding the training at St. Mary's Church, 521 West 126th Street, either in the basement or the sanctuary. Look forward to seeing you there and working with you on Wednesday the 22nd. Ona Move!
Suzanne, for the Coalition

Resolution for a Murderer
Submitted by jon peppers (not verified) on Fri, 07/17/2009 - 9:56amas is Mumia Abu Jamal. The U.S.A.G., I'm sure, is already aware of the Jamal case and, in my opinion, will not intercede on this matter for it was already resolved in the State and Federal Courts INCLUDING the Supreme Court and NONE have found any wrongdoing...NONE.

Submitted by HansBennett on Sat, 08/01/2009 - 6:10pmI'm very glad the NAACP takes up Mumia's case. If this court system isn't delivering any form of justice Obama and Holder should explain what they actually ment when the spoke about "change".
Free Mumia! And Leonard Peltier. His parole decision is pending and expected very soon.
One word to Jon Fop Pisano: please stop posting the same old boring comments every time someone reports on Mumia. Or - just carry on if it stops you from doing more dangerous nonsense.
Why
Submitted by jon peppers (not verified) on Mon, 08/03/2009 - 8:54amdo you call my postings the same old boring comments when I dispel YOUR same old boring misrepresentations of factual evidence and so called "new found evidence". So, to you, L.W. along with the book $eller$ P.O'. and M.$. should stop misleading those who don't know that, in FACT, Mumia Abu Jamal is a murderer of another human being and will die in prison with or without the help of the State...and rightfully so. You and L.W always throw other incidents into the mix to give your postings some credibility when it's only a distraction in an effort to validate your "innocent...didn't have a fair trial, Police set-up" senario". Tell a lie big enough, long enough etc etc etc and you will have readers who believe your garbage is Gospel.
BTW, how's your 'journalistic investigation" going regarding the execution of former MOVE associate John Gilbride? With your MOVE contacts you should have solved this case by now. Maybe you should ask Linn Washington for some help.

Simply Put...
Submitted by Naomi (not verified) on Wed, 07/14/2010 - 5:04pmThe lack of sufficient or CONSISTENT evidence means that the trial should have been thrown out to begin with. A confession by someone else (which was thrown out) years AFTER he was already found guilty should have lead to his release from prison. So, Mr. Pisano, I think perhaps you should go take a another look at the evidence of innocence or lack of evidence of guilt before you make such confident statements.
The fact is, Philadelphia used to be the home to and still is the home to some of the most corrupt law enforcement officials and representatives. If you're not the right race and/or class, you don't benefit from those perks in the corrupt judicial system.
I understand that Faulkner may not have deserved to die but lets not let an innocent man continue to be a victim of circumstance. I thought the point of justice was to serve it to the RIGHT people or the GUILTY people. We should no longer let an innocent man sit on death row for a crime he didn't committ. Maybe all of the "Justice for Officer Daniel Faulkner Crowd" should try conducting their own investigation of the truth instead of wasting time spreading "he deserves to die" propaganda. Read between the lines and find your own truth. REAL JUSTICE will never let you down.
