Pictures from June 21st and the festival on the 18th.  Healthcare profiteer and mutant vegetable puppet monsters.  Healthcare banner in combined march going past the side of the convention center  Ecology/Agriculture march passing City Hall.  Bioweapons march at City Hall, about to meet up with the other marches.  The sun.  Dancing to drums in front of the convention center.  A view of the combined march.  More plants + art making and about a dozen groups tabling in the background.  Skaters in Love Park - this was a mass act of civil disobedience.  Plant give-away at Reclaim the Commons Festival (6-18). Info table at left.  Picketing the BIOdelegates as they arrive on foot at the Art Museum gala. Submitted by Chris Harris (not verified) on Tue, 05/23/2006 - 8:32pmIn Philly of June 2005 Skateboarders joined together to not only express our dissatisfaction with how we are treated but to also prove that skateboarding is is a prevelant and positive force within the community. The day, simply referred to as civil disobedience, is a HUGE insult. Police applauded, made conversation and even asked for autographs. In fact, the only reason skateboarders were asked to leave was due to the fear of a violent riot erupting as the protestors neared the park later in the day.
P.S. The second picture of the skateboarder is me and thanks for asking to use it.
